FaceMOUSE: the software thats makes you free!
FaceMOUSE was devised by Simone Soria, who, by creating AIDA onlus, decided to put himself competently at the service of the disabled.
The FaceMOUSE™ technology reflects the way of being of its creator and of all the AIDA staff, who firmly believe that everything is possible for people, if done with the help and love of God at the service of our brothers and sisters with disabilities, even when appearance seems to deny it.
Since 2005, Eng. Soria and his staff put their skills at the service of the disabled people and their families, seeking the best solution for each according to the person’s condition.
During the first interview, the movements are observed and the residual capacities of the person are analyzed with attempts and experiments. The observations of the parents and those who know the disabled person are listened to, bearing in mind, however, that not always the people around him, especially if they are teachers or educators when the sequels are children and teenagers.
How often have we discovered that a young man was able to recognize the letters of the alphabet and his parents had no idea!
In the most serious cases we also proceed by trial and error, subjecting the person to tests that are first simple and then more and more complex.
From this first approach of discernment we arrive at deciding the most suitable technological aid for the needs of the disabled person and we move on to the delicate and complex phase of adaptation, to tailor the chosen and most suitable aid to the specific needs of the person.
FaceMOUSE is the main tool of AIDA onlus, adaptable, malleable, ductile, for all those with severe disabilities who are unable to communicate normally, providing them with the opportunity to study, work, surf the internet and integrate more into society as active people.
We are sure that in this way, we can restore the right dignity to the person and the freedom he seeks.
