The Founder and President Eng. Simone Soria
If you asked me who I am, I would answer with a smile… because the question would not be trivial.
Some have baptized me “brain-damaged with very serious spastic tetraparesis and important impediments in verbal language, due to birth asphyxia”… big words that scare me too!
Some teachers have called me a painter and poet, sport has awarded me provincial chess champion and the Magnificent Rector proclaimed me “Doctor of computer engineering”.
Some friends say I was born to piss off and others joke about giving me the “Iron Man” for defeating lymphoma after 6 months of chemotherapy.
My wife instead asks me: <How can you smile always?> …and I answer her with a smile!
Even the press talked about me the day after I graduated: “the disabled person who wasn’t afraid to fail”… this is the title I remember most!
Everyone was right, but I think I am who I am because of my belief in my abilities and my faith in a God who has always accompanied me, even if in ways that are sometimes difficult to understand.
Today I am Eng. Soria that after having conceived and created the FaceMOUSE starting almost as a game, to satisfy his own needs, he tried it with many other disabled people with different problems and managed to adapt it to them too.
And where the FaceMOUSE could not arrive, new ideas and new effective computer aids were born.
I travel around Italy tiptoeing into the homes of families, into the lives of the disabled and the family member to try in a couple of hours to give the person speech again or to offer him the tool to study or work.
Succeeding is a great satisfaction for me that repays all my efforts, sacrifices and the risks involved in being an entrepreneur of oneself.
If you want to know me better, you can read my short autobiography, or find out better what FaceMOUSE is, the origin of my satisfactions .
